One ongoing Dungeons & Dragons campaign, two nights a week, open to everyone from first-timers to lifers. Drop in any week and find out what your character is made of.
We run one ongoing campaign on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Grab a seat at whichever night suits you. New faces are welcome at every single one.
Everyone at Mom's Basement plays through one adventure together, twelve sessions across about three months. New players are always welcome to jump in at level 1.
There is no better time to start than now. New players always begin at level 1 and dive straight into the adventure, no experience needed, just the first page of the story.
Grab a seatYou don't need to know a single rule. Here's all there is to it.
Pick any upcoming night and sign up. We'll teach you everything at the table and hand you a character sheet, dice, and a mini to call your own.
Minis, dice, character sheets, and a patient DM who has done this a hundred times. Just bring yourself.
Your character levels up every session you play, and your first night comes with a code for a free second night. The good stuff is just getting started.
Real talk: the hardest part is walking in the first time. After that, you're just a person at a table rolling dice with people who were strangers an hour ago. That's the whole magic of it.
A few notes from people who walked in not knowing a single rule.
I almost didn't come because I'd never played and figured everyone would be a pro. Two hours in I was yelling about a goblin like I'd known these people for years.
My teenager dragged me along, and I expected to be bored in a basement. Now it's the thing on the calendar I actually protect.
Rolled a nat 20 my first night, learned a code word, and somehow left with a sticker and a whole party of new friends. Still not sure how.
The unglamorous answers, so nothing is a surprise at the door.
Every DM runs a different kind of table. Find the one that sounds like your kind of night.
Voices for every NPC, even the rats. Expect tangled plots and a tavern regular you'll grow weirdly fond of.
Fast fights, big swings, and cinematic disasters. Maybe roll up a backup character, just in case.
Endlessly welcoming and never in a rush. The DM we point every first-timer toward, and for good reason.
Mom's Basement started the way a lot of good things do: a folding table, way too many dice, and a handful of friends who didn't want the night to end. Andrew was the one who kept saying "same time next week?" until, somehow, it turned into a real thing with real tables and real strangers becoming regulars.
The name is a joke about where games like this used to get played, half-hidden and a little embarrassed about it. Andrew's whole idea was to drag it upstairs, turn the lights up, and make it the kind of room where a first-timer feels invited, not tested. No gatekeeping, no rules quiz at the door, just a chair with your name on it.
Most nights you'll find him drifting between tables, learning everyone's name, and quietly making sure the person who came alone leaves with a group.
Get the week's postings, the occasional tale from the table, and first dibs when a new campaign opens.
New players get a free second night code on their first visit. We'll never spam the guildhall.
Preview build, no real charge yet. The live version collects $15 per seat here through secure checkout.
See you Tuesday.
Your first night comes with a code for a free second night, and we'll have a character sheet, dice, and a mini waiting. Just bring yourself.
